More Ready4Rugby action as St. Albans host a multi-team event. Report by Fraser Morris.

Ready4Rugby was back at Boggymead on Saturday as Saints fielded two sides (Blues and Reds) and welcomed Hatfield QE II and Chess Valley in what was an afternoon of high scoring, free flowing rugby.

The club once again used the opportunity to continue building strength in depth as Isaac Pitt, Josh Blake, Reece Adams and Sulayman Aurangzeb made their debuts. We also welcomed back into the fold Ryan Wallis, Alex Gee and Ross Taylor who were making their first starts since March.

The Blues kicked off proceedings by overcoming Chess Valley 15-10 after a very slow start, trailing by two tries within the opening 5 minutes. The Reds then followed with a very competitive 20-10 defeat to Hatfield. After tense openers the floodgates opened with the Blues beating the Reds 35-25 whilst Chess Valley put Hatfield to the sword, running out convincing winners 40-5.

The Blues finished with a victory over Hatfield 30-15 and the Reds came up short against Chess Valley going down 25-10. The final saw a repeat of the opening fixture, this time it was the Blues who raced into a two try lead only to be pegged back with two late scores from the visitors to finish 10-10.

We would like to thank all of the teams that took part, Hertfordshire Rugby for providing the officials, Debbie for running the bar as always and FB and Golds for manning the BBQ. There is now a two week break before we host Fullerians on 07 December.
