Boggymead rocks as the Blue&Gold score a season-high score

Saints made it two wins in a row with a dominant performance over Harrow RFC, in front of a large crowd containing all of this seasons club sponsors for the blue and gold. The team would not disappoint as they were emphatically victorious on the day with an eleven-try win.

The intent for the match was set from the kickoff as the physicality of the forwards was evident as they trucked the ball up in the middle sector predominantly by number eight Sydney Noad and lock Matt Holmes, this allowed the short side to be freed up, and saw returning captain Charles Woollard (pictured) open the scoring, flyhalf Harry Trude would not be able to add the extras. The second try would come in quick succession following a similarly designed play with the backline of Gregoire Jamme de Lagoutine, Will Taylor and Dom Browne razzle dazzle their opposite backline with a move that allowed dual-coded winger Adam Jasinski to show his speed and score in the corner without the extras not being converted, Saints were leading 10-0.

The game would find its rhythm as both sides battled for supremacy, and it would be the home side that would find the breakthrough. Winger Will Taylor eluded the Harrow defence to score the first of the day, this time Trude was able to add the extras. Harrow would be spurred into action by this as they hit back with a superb attack that resulted in a penalty in front of the posts which fly half Tom Hutton would convert, taking advantage of the home side's lapse in concentration they would add a converted try through their flanker Rodriguez in quick succession leaving the score at 17-10.

The Saints regrouped in devastating fashion as quick-fire tries, from Dom Browne, Adam Power, and Gregoire Jamme de Lagoutine saw them have their bonus point by half time the scoreline reading 34-10.

The second half would be more one-way traffic as Harrow succumbed to the bludgeoning power from their hosts who were in a no-nonsense mood, notable carries and forays by outgoing number eight Sydney Noad, flanker Tom Webb and lock Matt Holmes as they seemed to run through the opposition with ease. The Saints' backline was now complementing the forwards, and tries were added from Tom Webb, centre Toby Sweeney as well as Taylor. Browne and Lagoutine added to complete braces, and scrum-half George Elliot taking over the kicking duties would convert the extras.

By the sixtieth minute, the game would be out of reach for the visitors, as Harrow would play the rest of the game with fourteen players due to the physical nature of the St Albans gameplay. Several Harrow players would be forced from the field of play and uncontested scrums would ensue, leaving the game to unfortunately peter out with the final score 69-10 to St Albans RFC. Jubilation for the home side as they look ahead next week to a sterner challenge against a high-flying Cheshunt side.

Captain Charles Wollard said ā€œWe were really good today, the guys stuck to the task and delivered on all fronts solid and great performance all aroundā€
