October Fest vs Try Fest

This was a game of two halves with the first half dominated by St Albans in the scrum, the lineout and open play. Charlie Palmer chased St Albans kick off, caught the ball and went to ground. The ball was recycled with Fountain scoring his first in the corner. St Albans were camped in the Hendon half and Bachelor ran a great line, threw an outrageous dummy before touching down. Fountain went through the middle to score his second. Captain Mineikis made a 40 yard break, prop Toland threw a great scrum half pass before Scanlan scored a pushover try from the ensuing scrum. Kinney mad a great break before chipping through for Palmer to score his second. Fountain scored his third with a 65 metre run. Raferty finished the half touching down to bring the score to 52-0.

The second half was a different story. Hendon regrouped at half-time and came back to give it their all. Great Hendon pressure led to prop Roddy diving over. Shaw was in on the action taking the score to 52-12. After some Hendon injuries, Fountain sportingly joined them, made a telling break and fed their winger to score. Hendon had scored 17 unanswered points in the second half. St Albans finally came back with Walmsley picking from the back of the scrum and sprinting over the line. He made a further break and passed to Jasinski who touched down to bring the final score to 62-17. Raferty , Kinney and Fountain had great games and MOM went to Batchelor. However, the second half belonged to Hendon. The game had been played in a good spirit, the referee had a great game and rugby was the winner.
