Mark Prangnell's men faced a very composed Beaconsfield Bandits team but competed for the full 80. They were better at the fast stuff than we were in what was a Good old fashioned mud bath of a game.
Wave after wave of attackers meant constant tackling duties especially for the backs, but sadly the mud wasn't as kind to our own speedsters.
We did notch 3 tries to the good so fair play to us.
Our scrum held up well and the lineout worked most of the time, although it struggled at times as the Beaconsfield front pod was very good. The rucks and mauls grew in confidence and we just need to contest a bit more aggressively.
Jude Evans kicks continue to improve and find their mark. Well done him.
We look forward to the return fixture as Beaconsfield proved to be a good bunch of lads with a similar outlook.
