The mighty 3's overcome

It was a cold day when St Albans 3rd team turned up at Roe Hill with only 12 players to face Hatfield 2nd team.
Hatfield scored first finally defeating the Saints 12 man defence to cross than line, but The Saints dug in losing Dylan with a neck injury they faced 14 man Hatfield with only now 11 men, the defence held strong to half time came.

Second half was started now with Hatfield up to a full team of 15 men while The Saints battled on with 11, a request was made to even up the team but was turned down.
The Saints dug in there heals keeping 15 man Hatfield out again and again with The Saints coming up trumps with a lot of turn over board the class of 11 man Saints showing through. Then from nowhere Kieron the Kiwi snatch up the ball cut a path through the 15 men of Hatfield to score under the post bring The Saints back into the game,
It was then that young Matt popped his knee and was carried of bring the Saints down to 10 men against 15 men Hatfield.
Finally Saints defence broke and Hatfield score once more with 10 minutes to go Hatfield asked for the Saints to forfeit the game but they knew they had Hatfield scared of defeat and refused instead battling on to the final whistle.

This was a if only game, if only 3rd team of St Albans could have kept their 12 men on the field the game could have been won but the 15 men of Hatfield held on and took a deserved win.
