St Albans RFC 3rds: Anyone want to be our 15th man? Hemel: No.

A tough day at the office for the Threes who showed some fantastic team spirit against a cast of thouands.
Losing Danny Martindale early meant we were down to the bare 15.
Not to worry.
We are the 3rds.
Losing Conor Maher after a fantastic try by James Little left us with 14 and with Hemel refusing to lend us a replacement, things were tough.

Our scrum was solid throughout and we even stole several of their balls. Likewise the Little-Dixon-Coffey front pod at the lineout was equally dependable.
The backs had their work cut out with wave after wave of roll on roll off fresh Hemel legs running at them.

Hemel registered 49 points whilst St Albans got 14.

The second try was a great forwards play from the line out to a drive to an illegally collapsed maul - penalty try although to be fair James Tyreman had dotted the egg down already.

Well played everyone who pulled on the Blue and Gold.

Good. Honest. Rugby.

If you DO come to watch, bring your boots. Random substitutes are ALWAYS legendary appearances that add to the folklore of Grassroots Rugby!
Cheers to Haden Jackson Robbins for both the photos and the videos!
