Stamford fielded a side with lots of new signings and a number of trialists.
The home side started brightly and forced the Daniels trialist keeper into a couple of early saves.
With so many new faces it was difficult for the Daniels to get into a rhythm, so it was newly promoted Blackstones who were making all the running. With Joshua Barrett causing particular issues to Stamford with his forward running.
The best chance in the first half saw the Daniels number 10 and Junior Varela combining before Varela hit a powerful shot which former Daniels keeper Max Peverell tipped the ball away for a corner.
Into the second half and Blackstones took the lead. A free kick from the right was delivered into the box, our second trialist keeper for Stamford spilled the shot and Nathan Rudman was on hand to score.
The home side then scored a second when a long-range effort was again spilled by the keeper with the a stones forward on hand to tap home.
Stamford grabbed a consolation at the end of the game when a trialist stabbed home.
