

Unfortunately, conceding three first half goals, two in injury time were ultimately the difference for the Daniels.

Stamford were quick out the blocks and had a couple of shots which went wide of the goal.
Bedford’s first chance came after twenty minutes when Elliot Simmons collected the ball and fired a shot from distance which Tom Jackson did well to tip over the bar for a corner. Stamford then attacked as Joao Varela crossed to Jack Thomas, as he was about to shoot, a Real Bedford defender got back to challenge for the ball and the keeper was able to claim.
Bedford took the lead on thirty-two minutes when Archie Jones took the ball round Jackson and despite cover on the line was able to slot it into the net. This was followed by a shot from Mohammed Ahmed which was Jackson was able to save.
As half time approached, Stamford had a great chance to level when Jon Challinor was parried by Craig King in the Bedford goal. Fletcher Toll tried to reach the rebound, but he was crowded out by Bedford defenders.
Real Bedford then scored twice in first half time, first Josh Allen got behind the Daniels defence and then lobbed Jackson to score. Then a cross from the right was missed by the Daniels defence and Conor Tee was able to score at the far post.
Into the second half and Stamford looked for a way back into the game but it was the visitors who nearly scored a fourth when Josh Allen put the ball into the net but it was ruled offside.
Then Thomas had another shot but his effort was saved by King in the Bedford goal.
Stamford was then awarded a penalty sixty-eight minutes when new loan signing Manni Norkett was fouled in the box. Top scorer Kai Tonge stepped up and fired the ball into the net.
The Daniels applied the pressure and had the ball in the net again but was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Stamford continued to look for a second goal but the Bedford defence was able to hold firm and keep the Daniels out.
