Drury said: "They've come and done a job on us.
"I don't think the referee has helped at all, he's allowed them to do that.
"I'm not blaming him, but he's got sucked into quite a bit of time-wasting and a bit of play-acting.
"That's clever from the opposition and, I've just said to our boys, that we've got to learn that.
"They squealed at every foul which they got and have come and done a real good job.
"They've come away from here with three points and there's not many teams who have done that in the last year-and-a-half so they deserve credit for that."

A penalty on the half-hour mark from Joe Walton gave Morpeth the advantage which was doubled in the second half by Jeff Henderson.

Stamford then made a triple subsititution which sparked a rousing finale with Sam Grouse halving the deficit.

Drury added: "I felt that when we got it down and played we looked lively and sharp.
"But we were not pro-active enough on our movement in the final third.
"Jake Duffy has put some absolute quality balls into the box and we haven't got on the end of them.
"We've put balls across the box and stayed static. You've got to be wanting to make two runs - you've got to take your man away and get across him and we haven't done that.
"Some of the players have been lethargic and, make no bones, they've been told about it and that's not me being harsh.
"I thought we defended well. The defence has done their jobs.
"We had a go at Morpeth first half and were in their defensive areas. We had them on the back foot.
"We were pressing well from midfield, but then we've given a silly penalty away.
"We've completely left the man for the second goal and that's game over at 2-0 against a decent side. It was another lapse in concentration which has killed us.
"We've made two errors for the goals which have come from dead balls.
"They haven't really opened us up or carved anything out. The two goals have been poor ones to give away.
"We've also got to be a bit more clinical in our movement in the box.
"If we are that little bit sharper in there then we would have got goals today.
"We've lacked that bit of drive from the midfield and our movement in the box in first half wasn't good enough.
"We were a bit more livelier after the changes. I think sometimes players think they're guaranteed a place and maybe I've kept with it too much.
"I've not too downbeat though. It's just the two goals we've conceded that I'm most disappointed about."

Stamford went into contest without defender Taron Hare and midfielder Cleveland Taylor who both left for Premier Division Matlock on Thursday night.

Club stalwart Jordan Smith has also left the Daniels for family reasons while Chris Salt was suspended.

This saw a first start of the season for Mike Armstrong as Stamford made the most of the early running without threatening the visiting goal.

Henderson flashed an early header over the visitors from a Ben Sayer corner while a dangerous in-swinging free-kick from Duffy clipped off Highwaymen defender Julian Petrache and looped over the crossbar.

The home side then had strong penalty appeals turned down when Reece Morris was bundled over in the box by Daniel Carson.

Appeals at the other end when Joe Burgess clipped David Carson were then successful when Morpeth were awarded a 30th minute spot kick.

Walton stepped up to send Dan Haystead the wrong way and give the visitors a first half advantage.

Stamford enjoyed plenty of possession after failing behind, but Daniel Lowson in the visiting goal didn't have a save to make in the first half.

This pattern continued after the break with another deft Duffy delivery evading everyone while Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson's burst forward and a low shot was easily gathered by Lowson.

The visitors doubled their lead just before the hour mark when Sayer's corner found Henderson unmarked to rifle home and leave Stamford with an uphill task.

Jon Challinor, Grouse and Liam Adams were all introduced in a triple substitution which paid dividends after 67 minutes.

Challinor weaved past several challenges in a mazy dribble in the box before unleashing a fierce strike which rattled the underside of the crossbar with Grouse nodding home from close range.

The initiative looked to be with the Daniels and Adams' surge forward was halted by a rash Petrache challenge on the edge of the box, but again the resultant free-kick brought no reward for the home side.

Adams unleashed a stunning curling strike which flew narrowly wide as Stamford started to push more men forward.

This left them exposed to some slick Morpeth breaks and Haystead produced a brilliant save to tip over a well-struck shot from Liam Henderson.

Sayer then curled a cross against the Stamford crossbar with the home defence scrambling clear of several occasions.

Challinor then headed over late on as Stamford were unable to find a second goal.

The defeat sent Stamford down to eighth place but, with just two points currently separating the top 11 sides, it's looked like being a keenly and closely-contested division this season.
