Stamford were left frustrated with a draw at local rivals Spalding United as former Daniel Brad Wells scored with the last kick of the game to salvage a point for the Tulips.

The Daniels went into the game without Greg Smith & Ollie Brown-Hill as both were serving suspensions after receiving red cards last time out against Gresley.

New signing Conor Marshall, who joined from Spalding United was on the bench and there was a rare start for Christian Eneremadu.

Stamford started brightly and Joe Boachie was off target early on. The hosts came close to scoring when a long throw evaded everyone and bounced of the post, but Archie Moyses could not take advantage and the ball was cleared from danger.

The Daniels took the lead on eight minutes when a hopeful ball down field by Jake Duffy brought a mistake from ex-Daniels man Taron Hare and the ball came loose for Rob Morgan to slot past the stranded Michael Duggan.

Daniels supporters had their heart in their mouths a few minutes later when a long ball was pumped downfield and keeper Dan Haystead was out of his goal to clear the ball, but it jumped up on the bumpy surface and struck the Daniels stopper on the arm. Haystead was given a yellow card by the referee.

Spalding forward Romario Martin had a couple of efforts on goal but Dan Haystead easily saved his efforts.

In the second half, Stamford started brightly, and Rob Morgan had a long-range effort which was forced away for a corner by Duggan in the Spalding goal.

Joe Boachie then had a fierce shot saved after he was teed up by Rob Morgan who had robbed Moyses on the edge of the penalty box.

With less than ten minutes remaining, Spalding got themselves an equaliser when Kegan Everington hit a fierce shot that Haystead palmer over for a corner. The resultant set piece was swung in and the ball evaded everyone except for Bradley Wells to tap in from close range at the far post.

Stamford grabbed a second with four minutes remaining when a period of pressure saw Jake Duffy have a shot blocked, the ball came out Boachie who crossed the ball and the clearance from James Hugo only found Duffy who slotted home.

Spalding got themselves a second in injury time when they won a free kick on the right. The ball was fed in by Everington and Wells rose highest to head home past Haystead.
