Both sides made changes with Stamford bringing in academy player Harry Peasgood for his first senior game for the Daniels. There was also a return of defender Henry Eze to the side. While Pearson Mwanyongo was rested and Jake Duffy, Rob Morgan, Eliot Putman and Mike Armstrong were on the bench.
Stamford started brightly with Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson and Peasgood testing the home goalkeeper.
Coalville were reduced to 10 men after twenty minutes when Jacob Spence went in heavily on Sam Hollis. The referee showing no hesitation in sending off the player. Stamford continued to look the better side with Burgess, Liam Adams and Fortnam-Tomlinson having efforts on goal.
On 38 minutes, Stamford took the lead when ex-Daniel Nathan Watson lost the ball and Adams had a shot which the keeper parried out as far as Jordan Smith who passed to Fortnam-Tomlinson who curled the ball into the far corner.
The lead did not last long as Coalville equalised two minutes later through Alex Howes. The player on loan from Notts County fired the ball past Haystead.
There was still time in the half to have another chance when Adams hit the base of the post and Hollis followed up, but the shot was off target.
At half time, Challinor & Gordon, who were carrying small knocks were replaced by Putman and Morgan. Also, Coalville brought on Daniel Creaney for James Carvell.
Stamford again started brightly with Fortnam-Tomlinson going close. Creaney scored Coalville;s second on the hour mark after Alex Dean cut back on the right.
Creaney then scored on 74 minutes from the penalty spot after Dean was adjudged to have been fouled in the box.
Dan Creaney then completed his hat-trick on 80 minutes by heading home from a corner. The rout was then completed on eighty-six minutes when Kyle Dixon beat Haystead at his near post.
In the dying minutes, Jordan Smith and Rob Morgan had chances to score but Coalville blocked the efforts.
The scoreline did not reflect the effort put in by the players but Coalville’s quality shone through in the end.
