St Andrews completed a 100% Win rate for September by winning a hard fought game at Radcliffe 2-1.
The Andrews went in at 1 nil down at half-time. The first goal (Scored by Kenny Reeves) took a wicked deflation of the unlucky Sam Preston and sent the ball up and over the helpless Shayne Antcliffe.
The second half began with the Andrews attacking the Radcliffe goal and looking more positive in their attacking play. The turning point though came when a mistake in the Andrews defence led to a one on one with the keeper 10 yards from goal. The Radcliffe striker inexplicably shot wide when it was easier to score.
After being let off from going 2 nil down the Andrews pushed forward again and following a handball in the Radcliffe box where awarded a penalty. Tom Dowsing calmly slotted the spot kick home.
Andy Purple then made 2 attacking substitutions and the Andrews pushed forward in search of the winner. Mitch Warner provided that winner, prodding home at the far post following a set piece. After a final scare when a Radcliffe shot just missed the far post the Andrews comfortably held on for their 6th win in a row.
