Another week, another team we have suffered repeated heavy defeats too, another fantastic team performance, and this time not a draw but a victory !!

The progress from the under 15's is impressive. This win has shown the depth in squad and competition for places is intensifying. Team captain Torin was injured at the county trials on Saturday and sat this game out, Keane made his debut and Tom returned from injury. With the personnel changes there were a few players in different positions, and comments from the touch line of how strong our bench looked with 3-4 normal starters watching on.

The first half saw launceston start brightly and were rewarded with the first try of the match. Keane replied with a debut try before launceston got a second. The half time score was 5-10 as all conversions were missed. I must compliment launceston on producing good quick ball for the backs and some excellent play by these backs. They moved the ball well and their full back was dangerous in possession. Our team worked hard to keep making their tackles and hold launceston at bay and some intelligent well executed kicking from Todd helped.

The second half was a complete contrast as the saints stepped up 2-3 gears. The forwards got on top and provided opportunities for our guys to attack. We ran in 5 tries , 3 for Bailey and another 2 for Keane. One was from Tom taking possession deep in our 22 before moving away from the packs and releasing Bailey on the opposite wing to go 3/4 of the pitch to score. Keane showed great strength to power his way over for his tries and a very impressive debut. Special mention for Dylan who came on to play outside centre and provided fantastic support to his wingers when they made their breaks. In the past we have given up possession with the wingers getting isolated, but dylan ensured that good gains were turned into points He was deservedly given man of the match by the coaches. Ethan, Alex, Ben and Charlie worked tirelessly making tackles and punching holes in the oppositions line.

These recent games have been enthralling to watch, and the standards are getting set for the team to achieve. The progress is marked and significant. The challenge is to make this consistent every week. Competition for places is high and the togetherness of the team evident. Keep going lads, you have improved so much but keep listening to the coaches and keep on improving. Next week away to penryn.
