It was a hard morning for the Under 10's. Following the 2 minutes silence on the main pitch we got underway against Devonport. The first 15 minutes all went one way - unfortunately not the way for St Austell. However, after half time the team began to fight for each other. Although Devonport were slick and well drilled, the St Austell Under 10's spirit kept getting stronger. We played a second match and again kept getting stronger and more team spirit came out.
Although we could not claim a win today, there were big improvements from all the players. After a physical encounter it was good to see them tucking into their sausage and chips. There were many strong individual performances, but in the end Emily came away with the Player of the Match trophy for some outstanding tackles and great runs culminating in a try.
Roll on Saltash next Sunday!
