St Clement picked up a point at Springfield in a game that they could have lost but should have won. In a disappointing 1st half St Clement failed to stretch Trinity or cause any real problems and fell behind to a 38th minute goal. The Trinity lads felt they had played their best 45 minutes for a few months but St Clement were lack lustre. After a stern discussion at half time the Anchors came out with a flea in the ear and more purpose and were able to level the scores after Rob McBey volleyed home from a corner. St Clement dominated the 2nd half in terms of possession and territory and had a number of good chances before Matt Rawlings, with the help of a swirling wind, scored directly from a corner in the 81st minute. St Clement continued to look good and had further chances to kill the game off but in the 90th minute Trinity throwing caution to the wind pushed players forward and after a seemingly lucky break of the ball went through 1 on 1 with Brad Rolland, only to see the initial shot saved and then rebound off Tom Floyd to dribble into the unguarded net to steal 2 points from St Clement at the last! A cruel blow for the Anchors who turned their disappointing 1st half performance around and looked worth the full 3 points for their improved 2nd period display.
