Look out for the haka on 28th September

St. Ives Rugby Club’s most recent collaboration has been enhanced with the kind sponsorship of training tops for all coaches of mini rugby by Rugbytots.
Rugbytots offers dynamic weekly play sessions for boys and girls aged 2 to 7 years old, using core rugby skills - how to catch, pass, kick, run with the ball and play as part of a team.
Some of the children wish to continue their rugby journey as they get older. Meg Fountain, owner of Rugbytots in Central Cambridgeshire and The Fens and pictured with some players and coaches sporting the new tops, approached St. Ives having determined that it was a family-friendly club aligned with the business’s values.
Meg commented, “Many of the parents have not experienced a rugby club before. Joining up with St. Ives gives us the opportunity to show directly how a well-run family-oriented club can look after their little ones. Any barriers they may have perceived are overcome and they can see a pathway for their aspiring rugby stars.
“We are delighted to be involved at the Bulls’ opening league fixture on 28th September, when they play Leighton Buzzard. Rugbytots will be there in strength and spectators can expect to see a spectacular haka before kick-off.”
Director of Rugby Phil Brown added, “We are chuffed that Meg contacted us with her idea to collaborate. We have thriving mini and junior sections and will happily welcome newcomers to the Club. There may even be some parents who get inspired to play senior rugby after watching the game on 28th!”
