St. Ives 2 v 2 Peterborough
Another tough game awaited St. Ives as they played Peterborough, again it was difficult to establish a pattern as the time worked against both sides. It was the Blues taking advantage first as Thomas Johnson scythed through the defence to open the scoring. However, Peterborough hit back strongly and a well worked try brought the scores level. HT: 1 – 1
The second half started with Peterborough pressing, but the Blues managed to shunt the opponents into touch. However, having won the lineout they tried to run out of defence, but the conditions worked against them, as the ball was dropped and Peterborough pounced for what they thought was the winning score. St. Ives had other ideas, as they quickly got going from the restart, and it was Thomas who was able to dive over at the death to earn a deserved draw. Unfortunately, it was not enough to progress in the tournament.
