Bradley stoke youth rugby

A big thank you to the coaches, players, and parents who turned out for the Chippenham Festival today for a very chilly tag rugby event. All players did very well today - Im sure all the other coaches are as proud as I am. Also thank you Paul and Justin for refereeing - its a tough job and allows Mark and I to concentrate on coaching the kids - a massive help!

What we did great:
In very cold conditions, and against some very difficult teams and at times tough playing styles, we ran the ball incredibly well. Some really good strong individual efforts and some superb support play to score tries. Zak topped the try scoring with some strong side-line running. Well done Zak.

What we can do better at:
There were two things we can do better at;
1. When we are running with the ball we must run in the direction of our try line - even if we get tagged, we give the next person a better chance at scoring. We must work as a team to get closer to the try line.
2. We must take tags, and then another tag, and then another tag. At times we were stood still, whilst our opposition were also stood still - move up and take their tag.

Our top tagger today was Harry - well done Harry!

What we want to more of:
When we held our defensive line, instead of bunching up or all chasing the one ball runner, we made it very difficult for the opposition - at one time forcing the player to run the ball out of play and hand it over to us. So we want more playing as a team and moving up to tag as a team; each covering their own space.

Player of the Festival was Oisin - scoring highly with both tries, and most importantly, a high tag count. Well done!!!!

Finally, again, ALL players today deserved their medals; Finley, Zak, Dillon, Thomas, Harry, George, Oisin, and Cayden.
