Mary's Suffer First Defeat of the Season

Mary's got to Warminster a little later than planned and had a reduced warm up but started the better in the first 5 minutes but a mistake on their 22 lead to a Warminster player taking the loose ball to go through and score.

Warminster were a much different side to the team Mary's beat 39-7 earlier in the season looking more organised and with a few different personnel and one of those players broke through to score under the posts with conversion to go 12-0 up.

A tactical move to put back row player Katie Sully on the wing paid off as she broke through numerous tackles out wide to score under the posts with her 4th try of the season, sadly Mary's didn't make the conversion but believed they were still capable of grabbing something from the game with plenty of time left.

However poor discipline gave Warminster the upper hand and they scored 2 more tries to win the game 24-5. Prop Kerry Diedericks did exceptionally well against a much bigger prop doing well in the scrums and putting in some big tackles and new scrum half this season Esther Gasa Fonollosa is really getting to grips and taking control in the new position for her.

Warminster deserved to win the game and Mary's are putting this game behind them after first loss of the season and are hoping put things right against Dorchester this Sunday who could not raise a side against them earlier in the season.
