St Mary's Ladies made the short trip to Scotland Lane on Sunday looking to right a few wrongs from their last two meetings.

Preparations had gone well mid week and the pack also boosted by the arrival of Donna Prince, Abi Meredith and Laura Schulze proved to be too slick and fitter than the old foe. Mary's let their intentions know early and running almost everything and after 5 mins Katie Sully breaking up the blindside from inside her own half at the back of a scrum to score a great Sullyesk try under the sticks, Laura Rugman converted. Mary's upped the anti slightly with some good line breaks from Jo Smith at 13 and Laura Rugman at 12 with some great interlinking play with the forwards looked to go wide again and Jen Appleford straightening up to pass around the corner for Sarah Terry to score her first Mary's try. Jo smith added the wide out conversion. As we've seen in the past Mary's couldn't afford to let up but did and just that with some sloppy defensive work around the ruck to allow their top try scorer to pull one back for Reds.

This seemed to spur Mary's on and produced two more excellent first half tries, the first after a series of penalties Mary's kicked to the corner and scored a well worked forwards catch and drive lineout with Lisa Yip coming up with the ball. The next was to come from a great breakout from Jo Smith dancing and dummying her way into the Reds Half, the ball was recycled quickly for Jen Appelford to score in her third successive game, Jo Smith added the convnersion.

Mary's ill Discipline was slowly creeping in with two previous warnings from the rather tall Australian referee for not being back ten meters at the quick tapped Reds penalties by making early tackles, Harriet Mustard suffered the brunt of a team Yellow Card just before half time. Mary's lead 5-26 at the turn around.

Now going down the slope Mary's always looking to run at every opportunity and grind down the Reds defense even more prove to be harder than they thought as Reds battled and defended with honour with some big hits and received quite a few in return.

The second half deadlock had to be broken at some point and did midway through the half when Katie Sully stepped and bashed her way over the line. Another try shortly followed when another threatening run by Jo Smith was finished off by Laura Rugman, both conversions missed.

with seven minutes left and the game all but sown up Mary's started to tire after all the hard work put in all afternoon and let the Reds scrum half jink her way through to score two unconverted tries as the whistle blew for the end of the game the shear joy on all the Mary's players and supporters was evident to see after a superb team performance by everyone.

Next up Ivel Barbarians at home.
