Matt was one of the founder members of the Stockport Schools Football Association when it was re-established in the 2016-17 season. Despite a tough start to the new Stockport SFA, it has been clear that the association has progressed incredibly since its initial season. In that time Matt has taken two teams in the programme, including the U14s/15s (2016-2018) and the U14s/U15s (2018-2020).

At the club, Matt has coached his teams towards a Manchester Cup Semi-Final, a 2nd Place GM League finish, a Cheshire Cup Semi-Final and an ESFA North West Cup Semi-Final. Although no silverwear has been added in that time, the progression the association has made as a 'town' team against 'city' teams it very impressive.

Matt currently works at Poynton High School as a physical education teacher, and has worked with several impressive teams at the school, some of which have reached the latter stages of the National Cup. His coaching and experience is something that has helped Stockport SFA become the district it is today.
