Stone Old Alleynians celebrate 60 years of football at the Stone House on 7th May

It is 60 years since Stone Old Alleynians first stepped out on the football pitch as the Old Boys team from Alleynes Grammar School in Stone. The team was set up in 1962 by Dave Bonnet, who was a young teacher at the school. He would never have guessed, 60 years later, that the team he formed with ex-pupils of the school, would have made enough progress to be making regular appearances in the prestigious and world famous FA Cup competition.

Dave Bonnet, now in his eighties, will be attending the celebration dinner at the Stone House Hotel on 7th May 2022, kicking off at 7.30pm. Dave Mardling, who has been with the club for 59 of its 60 year existence will also be leading the celebrations in his role as Club President.

Players and their partners, from all eras of Old Alleynians football will be attending the dinner. Special guests are representatives from the Staffordshire FA and the Midlands Football League. Also attending will be well-known after dinner speaker Les Scott, to give us his insight on football's latest trends and Trevor Mardling, the local solicitor from Stone who will be sharing his unique view of life in Stone and surrounding areas.
