- Adrian Birkett

Here's everything you need to know about Adrian:

1. Date of birth & star sign?
24 July 1981 - Leo

2. Occupation?
Ecologist and Dad

3. Favourite meal?
Too hard that. Love foods with a bit of spice. Mexican or Sri Lankan if pushed.

4. Hobbies other than cricket?
Getting out to watch live music. Spot of gardening. Drinking wine. Singing infinite numbers of nursery rhymes. Used to play golf to reasonable level.

5. Football team supported?
Liverpool. (*Takes cover*)

6. Imagine your partner has left you - who is your dream date?
Penelope Cruz

7. How did you first get into cricket, and who did you play for when you first played junior, and then adult cricket?
My Dad. He was an excellent player, and still turns out for the Channel Islands Over 50s (at 70!). I grew up in Guernsey and played Juniors for a club called Optimists, then transferring to rivals Pessimists at 13 or 14 to play in the Mens league as I wasn’t getting enough game time!

8. Favourite ever professional cricketer?
Chris Cairns / Carl Hooper / Allan Donald

9. What do you regard as your most memorable innings?
The 100’s are great, but I’d go for making 67 not out batting with 10 and 11 for the win in a cup game with my Canadian club Albion was pretty sweet.

10. What brand bat do you have?
GR7- A chap I used to play with in Guernsey is a carpenter and took to making bats a few years ago

11. Most memorable bowling performance?
5 – 11 versus Jersey U23s. Big match performance when I was proper quick. (Made a 50 in that match too).

12. Favourite away ground?
Hmmm. I’ve been underwhelmed with most of them. I thought E&W Hendred was a decent deck. I’ve heard talk that Marsh Gibbon is worth attending.

13. Least favourite away ground?
Oh boy. Wolvercote and Yarnton are a spectacular pair of cabbage patches.

14. Which Stoney batsman do you most enjoy watching bat, and why?
Sean Holley. Always great value.

15. Which Stoney bowler do you most enjoy watching bowl, and why?
Tom Gubbins. A master of his art. (That’s what you wanted me to write wasn’t it Gub?)

16. You've taken the first 9 wickets of a game, and the no11 hits the last ball of your spell 'straight up the chimney' - which fielder, past or present, would you least want under this crucial catch?
He’s left the club now so I feel alright about it, but Chris Drinkwater the WK for the first XI a couple of years back, dropped some shockers. Shoaib Ahmed was pretty bad as well that season.

17. What do you consider your best attribute as a cricketer, and why?
Calm under pressure. Knowledge of the game. Still trying to improve on my technique.

18. Which weakness in your game / technique would you most like to improve?
Turning beginnings of scores into big scores.

19. Funniest memory in cricket?
What goes on on tour, stays on tour!

20. Greatest remaining ambition in the game?
Playing at Lords!
Or my first 100 for the Stonemen and a trophy would be pretty good too!
