The club president retired from playing in 2017 after a distinguished Stonesfield career.

"I remember getting a lecture from umpire Mike Ogden for bowling 5 bouncers in a row at Brian Flitter - who promptly called for his Banger Racing Helmet!"
- Kevin Sherbourne

Kev was a canny and very effective bowler, who skilfully captained the 2nd XI to league and cup honours in the 2000s. He's pictured lifting the Keith Crump Trophy in 2007 (the last time the 2nds won anything).
Here's everything you need to know about Kev:

1. Date of birth & star sign?
9th March 1955 / Pisces - another sensitive dreamer!

2. Occupation?
Painter & Decorator

3. Favourite meal?
Traditional Sunday Roast

4. Hobbies other than cricket?
Listening to Music and walking the countryside with my new love Peggy!

5. Football team supported?
Leicester City and Oxford Utd

6. Imagine your partner has left you - who is your dream date?
At my age Felicity Kendall or Abi Titmuss!

7. How did you first get into cricket, and who did you play for when you first played junior, and then adult cricket?
Going along to watch my Dad and Uncles play for Chadlington

8. Favourite ever professional cricketer?
Allan Lamb

9. What do you regard as your most memorable innings?
Chad days again when I used to open to break up the 9 left handers we had in the team, we were playing Fringford - in those days a horrible team to play against, chasing a score of about 170 odd. I faced 23 overs from left arm quickie Joe Wickens for a grand total of 41 not out and we won the game with a scrambled bye to the wicketkeeper off the last ball of the match! It was the Day of the Live Aid concert in the 80s - I got home in time to see Freddie Mercury at his best.

10. What brand bat do you have?
My son Dan's hand down so currently a Gray Nicholls

11. Most memorable bowling performance?
My 7-21 for Chadlington against Brize Norton. But I rate my first 9 overs in the 2007 Keith Crump final when my figures were 3 for 1, (the last 3 went for a few though) as the most crucial.

12. Favourite away ground?
Chadlington (it’s where I learned to bowl using a slope)

13. Least favourite away ground?
Toss up between dog mess at Risinghurst, or the far pitches 3 & 4 at Radley

14. Which Stoney batsman do you most enjoy watching bat, and why?
Tim Wyatt - he makes it looks so easy!

15. Which Stoney bowler do you most enjoy watching bowl, and why?
My son Dan when he’s got his head on, but for for consistency Gubbo.

16. You've taken the first 9 wickets of a game, and the no11 hits the last ball of your spell 'straight up the chimney' - which fielder, past or present, would you least want under this crucial catch?
Paul Jackson 100%

17. What do you consider your best attribute as a cricketer, and why?
Early years definitely my all round catching ability. In later years learning to bowl line and length - took me 40 years to work it out .

18. Which weakness in your game / technique would you most like to improve?
Far to old to improve on anything now but I would of loved to been a more free flowing batsman

19. Funniest memory in cricket?
Most of mine involve Steve Amos (god bless his soul) from Chadlington days, but I remember getting a lecturer from umpire Mike Ogden for bowling 5 bouncers in a row at Brian Flitter who promptly call for his banger racing helmet. So then I pitched the next one up and bowled him! Oggy came over as we were celebrating and told me "to grow up" - I eventually did 30 years later...

20. Greatest remaining ambition in the game?
To captain a cup and league winning side in the same season; Whoops forgot, I’ve already done that!
