The league continues as this week Stow host Reading RFC at their Oddington Road ground. It promises to be an intriguing fixture as both teams have not faced each other for over 10 years.
Having come down from the league above this season, Reading are aiming to head straight to the top of the Southern Counties North League and gain immediate promotion. However they have not enjoyed their predicted start to the season, losing their last two games, away at Windsor and then home against Beaconsfield. Not too much can be read into this however, with the results so far showing that both Windsor and the high flying Beaconsfield are in contention for promotion themselves. Reading will be aiming that their experience brought down from the league above will enable them to bounce back this week against Stow.
Having won three out of three , two with 4 try bonus points, Stow will be going into the weekend with a lot of confidence. The trails of last years relegation scrap seem a long time ago, however the ghosts of numerous losses still seem to be on the minds of the club. Hopefully after a free scoring win away at High Wycombe, a place Stow have failed to win at over the past 5 seasons, they will but these worries behind them and believe that they can beat anyone. A similar looking side to the previous few games, Stow have been bolstered by the return of second rows Max Fisher and Dan Tarbox after a period of unavailability, as well as club chairman Leigh Glazebrook.
The conditions are looking good for the weekend so the crowd can look forwards to a fast paced exciting game, kick off is 3.00pm come and support your local.
