MARLOW 30 STOW 9
A very disappointing result and performance away at Marlow. With a strong team out Stow still struggled to get any rhythm and continuity with mistakes and poor decision making them pay. Marlow kicked an early penalty, but Stow levelled with one from DAN ADAMS soon after. From the restart Stow fumbled and gave possession to the hosts, they worked the blind side and scored in the corner which was converted. Marlow then had a purple patch where they scored another converted try and kicked a penalty. Stow had possession but couldn’t turn any of this into telling territory or points. Then just before the break a clear forward pass was missed which led to Marlow’s third try which went unconverted, DAN ADAMS just had time to kick a second penalty to leave Stow well adrift 25 points to 6 at the break. Stow needed to regroup and try and get their game plan into action, but Marlow seemed to be always a step ahead, Stow again had the ball but could gain ground or threaten the Marlow line. DAN ADAMS kicked another penalty to pull three points back but then Marlow celebrated their fourth and bonus point try after a secured lineout was driven over the line, try unconverted. All in all a very bad day in the office.
Next week Stow entertain Reading, KO 3.00 pm
