Move To Front Line Sparks St. Pete Rally as Torian Johnson Takes Bow

Last Autumn, Torian Johnson suited up at ruck for the Denver Bulldogs, squaring up against the Swans in the USAFL D4 Preliminary Final at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch.

Last Saturday, he made his debut in the Red & White...and made an immediate mark on his new club.

Johnson's two thrilling majors sparked a fourth quarter surge, reversing the sting of a rather drab first three periods, as St. Pete struggled to find a rhythm in a loss to their cross-state brethren.

Johnson's emergence might signal a whole new pulse to the St. Petersburg offense.

Frequently on the ball, and showcasing the elusiveness and possession skills that can make him an anchor on the attack, the former Lafayette Leopards (Division I FCS) safety continues to refine his skills in a transition to footy, becoming a regular at the club's Thursday and Saturday training sessions.

As the club (0-3 in USAFL league play, and a shock 2-7 overall looks to reverse its 2017 fortunes, the St. Petersburg Swans may have uncovered a potent and multi-dimensional weapon.
