With Broony returning to his roots, the opportunity has arisen in the role of Head Coach

We are looking for an experienced coach who has the enthusiasm, drive and commitment along with the ability to motivate, challenge and develop the whole club, but with a specific focus on senior players.

Strathmore RFC currently has four senior teams, 1st XV playing in Tennent’s National League Division 3, 2nd XV playing in Tennent’s Caledonia Midlands Region League Division 3, Strathmore Women who are keen to enter the national leagues and the Strathmore Silverbacks Rugby League team playing in Scottish RL National League. The club also has a vibrant junior section of approximately 130 kids aged 5 to u18. We are a proud community facing club with big ambitions but remain firmly grounded in all we do.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the coaching team and playing programme and development of the senior teams. Working closely with the Vice President Rugby and Club Committee to develop, support, communicate and deliver a thriving positive rugby environment.

Applicants should have:

Qualifications: UKCC Level 2 or equivalent with a desire to achieve UKCC Level 3

Experience as a club or School Coach and previous involvement in the development of talented players on a performance pathway.

Knowledge of Performance Analysis software and associated techniques would be an advantage.

Knowledge of team attacking and defensive strategies, skills and techniques relevant to players ability.

Demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate players.

Communicate effectively throughout the club.

To Effectively and enthusiastically plan all training sessions and matches.

Agree achievable and realistic targets with the VP Rugby

Agree a transparent selection policy with the VP Rugby.

Design and execute training which is effective and relevant to the squad’s development and over goals.

To work with coaches, volunteers and club committee to achieve the best outcomes for the club.

Availability for all training and matches unless agreed with VP Rugby

Remuneration package based on experience and qualifications.
