Strathmore Schools had there biggest ever victory on Wednesday night in the Brewin Dolphin Schools Cup against Harris Academy from Dundee. An emphatic 76 – 0 win to match wins recently in this Cup against Perth HS and then Wallace HS from Stirling shows this squad are enjoying their rugby and making a telling contribution.
Alex Milne played his first game and made a telling impression, however, the contributions of the flying Tegan Gibson with 4 tries and Calum Campbell again showing an outstanding kicking performance with 8 conversions were worth their weight.
It was a horrendous wet night at Forfar but the Strathmore Schools side kept playing effective “ball off the ground” rugby with a real willingness to move the ball around throughout the encounter.
Their reward is a match against Madras College in the next round.
Try scorers were – Callum Duncan 2, Struan Robertson, Tegan Gibson 4, Tom Watson, Fergus Mitchell, Ryan Farquharson, Christian Taylor, Ewan Longmuir,
8 conversions from Calum Campbell.
