Strathmore U18s defeated a useful Alloa U18s 7 - 12 at Alloa on Saturday recording their second away win of the Midlands league following a period of three weeks without a game.
Conditions were very difficult for all players with the pitch very heavy. As a result the game was generally of a stop start nature with the Strathmore team adapting well to the conditions. The game was close in the first half, however, as time went on the Strathmore team gradually got on top with all players performing well with accuracy with rucking and showing enterprise with their attack. Strathmore were frustrated not to score more points especially with the pressure they were putting on Alloa and the field position they has throughout the second half. The team showed strong defence, especially in midfield where Alloa could make no break through.
Try scorers for Strathmore were Mark McQueen and Lee Alexander, with Mark McQueen adding a conversion.
