Match Day 1 Preview...???
Season 2021-2022 then and the Redditch Sunday League has been split into two divisions, the Prem and Division 1, we find ourselves in Division 1...10 other sides to face with plenty of old foes along with a sprinkling of new sides, external cups back on the agenda and a return to the Studley Sports & Social Club as our HQ, with a new signing in Chris Hands on board and Billy O'mahoney returing after a full season out injured there's plenty to be positive about but its what happens on the pitch that carries sway...
So our first game of the season is tomorrow then, we take on Beoley Village at home, you never know what to expect from them and recent results have been mixed with our most disappointing result of last season coming against them in a Cup Quarter Final loss.
As for us Handsy is away on Holiday, Lee Ewens has injured himself on holiday ?‍♂️?‍♂️? and Ibby Akhlaq remains sidelined with a swollen ankle. This then gives me a weekend where no difficult decisions need to be made concerning a 16 man squad as everyone else is available.
We know what we're about which is hustle and good organisation but we need to find goalscorers amongst our squad if we are to compete at the top end of the table so having had a good pre season I'm gonna pick put Tommy Williams as the one to watch for tomorrow, there's goals in there from him and I'm hoping he starts the season with a bang ??
