The club formed in 2009 by a wandering student who picked up a love for the game whilst traveling on his Gap year. Originally set up as the Guildford Crows with some much appreciated donations from the Adelaide professional organisation of the same name the Crows played their first season as a friendly addition to the AFL England Southern League teams.
After 2 further years competing fully in the league the Crows decided to fly the nest as it were, and go it alone. And so, in 2013 the Crows shed their feathers, donned some antlers and began again as the Surrey Stags.
