Vice Presidents

Vice Presidents
Role of a Vice Presidents at Sutton Cricket Club

The continuation and future success of the Club depends upon the contributions of many individuals and also the goodwill and active support of both the local community and others who love cricket and village cricket in particular.

Individuals can support the Club by becoming Vice Presidents. Maintaining, and hopefully increasing, the number of the Club’s Vice Presidents year on year is an important indicator of the continuing goodwill and support of the local and cricketing communities. It is also helpful for the body of Vice Presidents to reflect the diversity of views and talents within the local and cricketing communities.

Becoming a Vice President in itself makes a valuable contribution to the Club. Vice Presidents once appointed automatically become Honorary Members of the club .Although making a modest annual financial contribution is important it is by no means obligatory. It is through other forms of contribution such as attending and supporting the Club during matches, providing professional and other advice, undertaking particular tasks necessary to the running of the Club and simply supporting the Club within the local and cricketing communities that are equally important. The obligations placed upon Vice Presidents are minimal but the opportunities for some Vice Presidents to become more involved are unlimited.

The President and Chairman of the club are responsible for communication with Vice Presidents and ensure that Vice Presidents are regularly updated on recent results and forthcoming matches, of the Club’s future plans and other important issues for example social events that may be of interest.

A list of the Vice Presidents contact details will be kept with membership records by the Club Secretary or other officer of the club

The Vice Presidents may on infrequent occasions be approached and asked for a contribution to major expenditure items that are unforeseen in the Clubs annual budgeting. Contributions from club sources can very often be match funded by external grant awarding sources.
Anyone who wishes to consider becoming a Vice President should contact the President or Chairman.
After consideration by a meeting of the General Committee all new Vice Presidents will be subsequently confirmed at the next Annual General Meeting of the club.
Once appointed the Club will automatically renew the position , unless the Vice President requests otherwise.
