2-1 win for the reserves

Football returns to the Lane

Training resumed after lockdown this week and competitive football returned on a small scale. The First and Under 18's teams will wait to resume after the Government's next Tier review but the Reserves bounced straight into League action on Saturday with a respectable two one victory at home to Beccles Caxton. An evenly matched first half, the deadlock finally broken ten minutes into the second. Kai Mayes brought down in the box, Sam Carter converting from twelve yards. Beccles equalised mid-way through the half but the game put to bed with ten minutes to go, Dean Miller smashing home the winner from six yards. Next weekend they are on the road to third place Holt United.

The 'A' Team return to action next Saturday in the Pease League Cup with a home tie against Horning, the sides have already met twice this season, once in the League and once in the Ben Smith Memorial Cup. Horning fairing better in the League meeting, Swaffham taking the Cup honours. Two well matched sides with just a place between them in the League, goals assured on previous history.

Finally the Club would like to thank Tina from the Archant Group for providing each of it's Youth players with the Norwich City Football Club sticker book for this season. We are sure that the albums will provide entertainment for the youngsters, their siblings and parents.
