Onwards and upwards

Whitton United 2 Swaffham Town 1

Considering the disrupted pre-season run up to the commencement of the League, Greg Dimsey's squad put in a fine performance against a returning, established Whitton outfit. The hosts took the lead in the 35th minute, a clumsy challenge on the right hand wing gifting them a free kick. The resulting effort finding the top far corner of the net. The second came in the sixty sixth minute, what can only be described as a lucky punt from forty yards, a deceptive bounce beating keeper Dan Smith at the right hand post. Consolation and reward for the efforts of the Pedlars in the final minute, Luke Middleton laying the ball off from the right hand wing for James Linsdell to strike from eighteen yards, his precise shot going in off the inside of the left hand post. Lots of future promise from this young growing Pedlars side.

A busy week for the Pedlars, Tuesday evening they are at home to Gorleston and next Saturday they welcome fellow Thurlow Nunn Premier Division rivals, Walsham-Le-Willows to the MG Building Maintenance Stadium in the preliminary round of the FA Cup
