3-2 home defeat

Pedlars miss out on points as luck and fortune goes against them.

It was always going to be a tough encounter away to in form Wroxham, but the Pedlars put on a great display and were unlucky not to come away with a point. The Yachtsmen going ahead in the fourth minute, Billy Smith levelling just seven minutes later, cutting in from the left and firing across goal into the bottom right hand corner. Great play and pressure from the Pedlars, the home side given a dubious penalty in the seventy eighth minute, the Pedlars then not given a far more obvious penalty for hand ball five minutes from time. Wroxham claiming all three points but fully aware that they had had a game on their hands and Lady Luck was on their side.
Saturday Woodbridge Town visited the MG Building Maintenance Stadium. The best of starts for Swaffham, Six minutes in, Billy Smith cutting into the box, playing across to Nick Davey who played the ball off to Nick Castellan, who struck sweetly, curling the ball into the bottom right hand corner from fourteen yards. The visitors levelled through five minutes later, the Pedlars unable to clear their lines, the ball bundled into the net. Davey brought down in the box gave Castellan the chance to redress the balance. He fired his penalty into the top right hand corner to regain the advantage. Several attacks but the Pedlars unable to punish the Woodpeckers further. In the thirty first minute they equalised again, the sides going in even at half time.
The Pedlars lost some of their fire and determination in the second half, Woodbridge applied more and more pressure, they finally took the lead in the sixty third minute and battled to retain it until the final whistle. Mid week the Pedlars travel to Mildenhall Town on Tuesday unless a decision to bring in lockdown early is made by the Eastern Counties Football League.
A heavy seven nil defeat for the Reserves away to Reepham Town, they were due to play Holt United this Saturday.
The Club now awaits further direction from the Football Association and respective Leagues as to what the rest of the 2020/2021 competition will look like as we enter uncertain times again.
