An entertaining fixture with the Pedlars claiming three points to get their season going. The perfect start with Joe Jackson netting in the third minute, the assist coming from the left wing, Alex Vincent finding Jackson to thump home. An early substitution in the tenth minute, Luis Duarte replacing Sam Carter who received a kick to the head.
Godmanchester levelled the scores in the fifty third minute but the initiative was once again restored in the sixty fifth minute. Vincent again with a driving run on the left hand side, firing low and hard across goal, the keeper got a touch but could not hold the ball, Jackson controlling and side footing home from four yards.
Tuesday the Pedlars are away to Thetford Town before next weekends coach trip to Biggleswade United. Tuesday week they host Norwich United in the League.
The Reserves continue their season preparations, a four nil defeat away to Holbeach Reserves on Saturday, the punishment all dealt in the second half. Next weekend they travel to Wisbech St. Mary.
