As many may already be aware, one of our loyal fans Dave Cooper tragically lost his life recently. Dave rarely missed a game both home and away following this club. His son, Ash Cooper played a vital role for our club following promotion to the NCEL for a number of years and so did his late father, giving the lads the boost they needed from the side lines when times on the pitch got tough.
Four of our players committed to run a marathon in memory of supporter, sponsor and friend, Dave Cooper.
The players were Captain Ollie Grady, Richard Williams, Mitch Kent and Chad Lake – all completed the run (in around 3hrs .44mins to 50 mins)
None had run further than a ½ marathon previously and each player carried out their run observing current guidelines.
Darryl Johnson provided invaluable support to ensure the runners had support on their run including refreshments.
The remainder of the players have all been taking part in a running challenge and have covered over 1,000km (further than Land’s End to John O’ Groats) in the past 10 days.
