The 1st XI won just 4 of their 13 matches in Division One - to finish in joint 8th place. At the time of writing, relegation issues are still to be resolved particularly with all the leagues being re-structured next season!
The highlight of the 1st XI's batting was Craig’s century against Poole (he finished the season with 473 runs at an average of 43) he also made 3 other half-centuries. Mark (3), Ben (2), Sid (2), Tom (2) and Ricky also registered half-centuries.
The stand-out bowling performance was a 5 wicket-haul by the returning Matt (B) against Chalke Valley. Steve (R) claimed a 4 wicket-haul, they were well supported by Ben (who claimed 20 wickets at an average of 19), Charlie, Freddie, Mike (H), Ryan and Sid.
The 2nd XI won 9 of their 14 games to finish 4th in Division 4.
The highlight of their batting was Mike’s 2 centuries against Cheselbourne and Martinstown (he finished with 649 runs at an average of 81). He also scored 5 other half-centuries. John (3), David (A), Phil, Sam (W) & Steve (K) also recorded half-centuries.
The outstanding bowling performance was a 4 wicket-haul from Steve (K) against Witchampton (who claimed 13 wickets an average of 10), he was well-supported by Ed, Harry, James, Lily, Matt (B), Ross, Sam (M), Sam (W) & Steve (W).
The 3rd XI won 4 of their 9 games in Division 6 to finish in joint 3rd position. The highlights of their batting were the centuries made by David and Tim against Charlton Down and Dorchester respectively. Tim made 4 other half-centuries (he finished with 335 runs at an average of 84). Andrew, David, Dylan, Ethan, Gary, George, and Matt (D) all
scored half-centuries.
The ‘champagne’ moment of the season was Andrew’s 7 wicket-haul at Verwood. Ethan also claimed a 4-wicket haul against Dorchester.
There have been consistent performances from Alan (who took 12 wickets an average of 27), Jernimain, Luke & Mark (S).
As well as that, the club's 7 youth sides have all enjoyed successful seasons with a number of the Under-15’s making their debuts in the 3rdXI. Alongside that, the Women & Girls Team has enjoyed a successful season winning 2 of their 6 matches in the Super 8’s League. With regards to the batting, Kirsty registered the highest score (36) although it was the bowling where the most spectacular performances were recorded- with Lana excelling to take 6 wickets at an average of 19- Hannah took 3 wickets on her debut and Faye bowled with great consistency throughout. Regular performances from Angie, Jo and Kayleigh, along useful contributions from Bev, Eden and Mandy supported the season. The Women and Girl's section of the club is continuing to flourish.
