​​Swans welcomed Puddletown in their latest Dorset/Wiltshire Division 1 fixture to Bestwall last Saturday.
​​An early penalty set Swans on the backfoot, but once they had the ball, a decisive move along the three-quarters had winger Harry Spyers going in for a try in the corner after 6 minutes.(5pts – 0pts). Almost immediately after the score Swans gave away a penalty, which was converted making the score 5pts – 3pts. However from thereon it became one sided as Swans play outsmarted the Puddletown defence. Centre Charlie Rowberry, back from injury, was next on the scoreboard after ten minutes with a try in the corner and winger Tom Haw ran round to score under the posts. Phil Graves added the extras(17pts – 3pts). Swans no.8 Joe Desmond forced his way over the line after 18 minutes, and two minutes later Rowberry went over for his second score of the game.(29pts – 3pts). It was becoming too easy for Swans, and after 26 minutes Joe Desmond went in for his second, close to the posts. Graves added the conversion. Rowberry added his third try (43pts – 3pts) and 5 minutes before the break Swans were awarded a penalty try after the referee decided a kick ahead resulted in a tackle off the ball, making the interval score Swans 50pts Puddletown 3pts.
​Swans made a couple of changes at the interval. Luke Smith coming on for Joe Desmond, and Barnaby Knibb on for Phil Graves. Swans started the second half like the first, on top. 5 minutes into the half Charlie Rowberry went in for his fourth try of the game, with Knibb converting .Puddletown were now putting up a fight but after 53 minutes, Barnaby Knibb sliced through the visitors defence to score out wide.(62pts – 3pts) On the hour once again Harry Spyers was on hand to go in for his second try, and two minutes later as Swans were on the Puddletown 5 metres line, a Puddletown back broke clear to run almost 90 metres to score under the posts. This was converted(67pts – 10pts).10 minutes from the end, Phil Graves,back on the field for Harry Spyers, went over for a try out wide, and on 77 minutes Barnaby Knibb worked his way over the line for Swans 13th try of the game making the final score Swans 79pts Puddletown 10pts.
