Swans win Dorset/Wilts Division 1 title
​​Swanage & Wareham secured the title with this win against Weymouth as Dorset Dockers lost their game against Oakmeadians last Saturday.
​​It took Swans just four minutes to put the first try on the board as Swans no.8 Kirk Jones powered his way over the line. 5 minutes later a break by swans had winger Rory Fergusson going in. Steve Woolley a break by Swans had winger Rory Fergusson going in. Steve Woolley added the extras(12pts – nil) Centre Barnaby Knibb was next to score a converted try after 13 minutes(19pts – nil). A couple of penalties to Weymouth had them inside Swans 22 and with a push over try Weymouth broke their duck(19pts – 5). On twenty minutes Rory Fergusson added his second conve rted try,. but We scored a second try after 32 minutesmaking the score 26pts – 12pts. Before half time Swans added two more converted tries by scrum half Chris Tomes and Barnaby Knibb who scored his second try. Half Time Swans 40pts Weymouth 12pts.
​​In the first minute of the second half winger Harry Spyers went in for a converted try(47pts – 12pts) and five minutes later Chris Tomes went in for his second converted try to take Swans up to 54pts. It was now one way traffic as Swans made hay scoring at will. Barnaby Knibb went in for his hat –trick of tries(61pts – 12pts), and winger Harry Spyers added two more tries in quick succession(73pts -12pts) to complete his hat-trick. On the hour mark flank forward Sam Turner went in for another converted try to make the score 80pts- 12pts. Just after this the referee decided that Weymouth had had enough and for no reason abandoned the game with 14 minutes still to be played as there was no problem with the weather or the playing conditions.Swans scored 12 tries with 10 of them converted by Steve Woolley.
