​​Swans welcomed Thatcham to Bestwall for the first time in the league, and after a tough first half Swans raced away to a comprehensive victory.
​​After two minutes Thatcham gave away a penalty in their own 22, quickly taken by Swans
fly half Steve Woolley who crossed close to the posts. He converted his own try(7pts – nil).The visitors came back scoring a converted try after 9 minutes. Swans maintained their advantage after 15 minutes when scrum half Chris Tomes scored out wide. Swans were in trouble at the scrums as the heavier Thatcham pack were dominating. After a couple of penalties against Swans the visitors scored a try out wide to level the scores. Swans managed to get the ball out to the three-quarters and centre Vee Veremu sliced through the defence to score under the posts(19pts – 12pts). Right on the half time whistle Thatcham scored a penalty goal so the half time score was Swans 19pts Thatcham 15pts.
​​Swans advanced their score after 45 minutes as Steve Woolley went in for his second try in the corner. Swans were playing to their backs after the break, and winger Matty Matikibau cut inside the defence to score under the posts after 50 minutes. Woolley converted(31pts – 15pts).Another line out in the Thatcham 22 had second row Will Long powering over the line 3 minutes later as Swans piled on the pressure. Five minutes later Vee Veremu added his second try of the day with Steve Woolley converting to make the score 43pts – 15pts. From another line out and a maul the ball came back to Swans no.8 Kirk Jones who worked his way over the try line for a converted try to bring Swans to the 50pts mark. On 70 minutes once again the ball as worked out to Matty Matikibau, who went in at the corner for his second try of the day. In the last eight minutes Thatcham woke up and scored two tries as Swans appeared to relax their grip on the game, making the final score Swans 55pts Thatcham 25pts.
