This was also going to be a tough game, but 3 things made it tougher than it should be.
1) Out of a squad of 17 players we only had 12 available, and we were missing people in key areas.
2) A referee who seemed intent on making sure we lost
3) Injuries during the game which meant in the last 15 minutes we only had 8 players who could run and 3 who were trying to play on even though they were injured.
All that said we created chances in the first half but failed to take them, Pheonix were fortunate to be leading 3-0 at half time.
We changed a few positions around and the 2nd half started much better.
On the 48 minute some great play saw Donnel weave some magic on the edge of the area and curl a shot into the net, 3-1.
On 51 minutes Jake played a great ball to Donnel who in turn put Seun through on goal, a beautiful chip shot saw the ball nestle into the net, 3-2.
Pheonix were rocking, but the ref decided to get involved. Not giving us any fouls but giving Pheonix everything. Pheonix were also throwing in some late and dangerous challenges, which took there toll on the Swanley players.
In the end the walking wounded did as best as they could, but Pheonix scored a further 4 goals and the game finished 7-2.
