Spartans gain Second Victory in Vienna

By Chris Atkinson

Spartans second successive victory sees them head the group.

Zuvedra 0 v 2 Swansea
After a brilliant first game yesterday Swansea we’re looking for another win against their Lithuanian opponents Zuvedra.

After lots of turnover and scrappy play in the first quarter, Swansea regrouped at the break to come back stronger. Spartans won a corner mid way through the quarter. Kat Budd shot and Amy Burton deflected it into the net in the 25th minute.

Swansea were on top going into the second half looking to capitalize on their lead. The second half started off well with lots of pressure applied to the Lithuanian defence. A long cross from the right side saw Beth Fisher slide the ball past the keeper for Swansea’s second goal on 40 minutes.

The last quarter saw a number of missed opportunities for Swansea, however we were able to prevent the Lithuanians from scoring - keeping the score at 2-0.

Swansea are looking forward to their all Wales clash today against Cardiff University at 2pm.
