Swansea Valley Schools Rugby has been running since 1975 and has produced such players as Robert Jones, Rhodri Jones, Leighton Gerard, Arwel Thomas, Adam Jones, Dafydd Howells and Dan Baker to name but a few!
This year’s Swansea Valley will be coached by; Forwards - Jonathan Stevens (Abercrave RFC) & Chris Harris (Trebanos RFC), Backs - Peter Abraham (Abercrave RFC) and Gary Lewis (Cwmgors RFC). Mr Adrian Lock will be the Team Manager and Mr Peter Bound (GolwgyCwm) Co-ordinator/Fixtures Secretary/Treasurer. We aim to train weekly with regular games for both teams. Our Team Manager will deal with the administration, and contact of all parents, so please ensure all contact details are correct and kept up to date.
It is a great achievement that your son/daughter has been selected during this trial and we hope that they enjoy the upcoming year. The teams are run voluntarily and they are non profitable. With this is mind we still need to ensure that the children have kits to play in, training tops, facilities etc, which therefore means, an element of fundraising will be required. As discussed in the meeting, we will have a new set of kits made for both teams at a relative cost to parents, which the children will get to keep at the end of the year. Providing that we have your full support in raffles, and other fundraising events it may be that the cost of the kit will be returned to you at the end.
