The Reserves gave another powerful performance against Tiptree Jobserve to take all 3 points in a 4-1 victory

The impressive run continues thoughout the Bloods teams as the Reserves had a comfortable 4-1 win against Tiptree Jobserve in the Essex Senior League Reserves giving them two wins out of two. Like the first team, the Reserves are new to the league and face a host of difficult opponents but have already shown great maturity for a team so young, with almost half the players still playing for the U18s team who also had an inpressive 5-2 victory on Thursday over Coggeshalls U18s.

The match started very evenly with Tiptree having more of the ball and after seven minutes had an excellent opportunity, but Josh Bates made an excellent save with his feet. This didn’t rattle the Bloods and they continued to work hard and played good passing football.

Just fifteen minutes into the match the hard work paid off when Captain Coby Game drilled the ball into the back of the net from 15 yards out after Tiptree failed to clear a corner.

Both team worked hard during the first half but it was Bloods new signing Charlie Buffin who doubled the lead for Walden, after he ran onto a great through ball and slotted the ball passed the keeper.

With minutes remaining Tiptree won a corner after goalkeeper Josh Bates made another excellent save. The Bloods could get the ball away and Tiptree scored from a few yards out leaving Bates no chance.

Director of football Glen Wilkinson made a change at half time and replaced Flynn Tarman with the dynamic Liam Moir as the Bloods looked to open the gap.

Early into the second half Tiptree almost equalised after the striker got goalside from a dangerous pass, but yet again it was Bates who rushed out and blocked the shot with his feet.

With 20 minutes remaining the Bloods got their deserved goal scored by Harris Onwubiko. Onwubiko latched onto the ball after the Tiptree keeper spilled it. Tiptree tried to claim a foul but the keeper waved for the match to play on.

Just before Walden’s fourth and final goal Bates showed his athletic ability and made an excellent diving save before Sak Hassan tucked away a penalty on the 90th minute.

MOTM Josh Bates.

Next at the Lane the first team are in action and face St Ives in the next round of the FA Cup. St Ives are two leagues above Walden so a win would be an incredible achieve. That match is on the 8th September at 3pm
