Just to confirm that the outcome of a committee decision on minimum qualifications required for volunteers at the club.
All volunteers including bar staff should be DBS checked not only for the safety of children but also to protect the club in terms of such things as theft etc. We all need to work towards this over the coming season.
1. All designated first aiders need to have done or about to do a RFU recognised course on first aid at the beginning of the season and be DBS checked
2. All managers must be DBS checked
3. All coaches must have undertaken the rugby ready, play it safe and head case courses by at least the first 6 weeks of the season.
Please note head case course is online - https://www.englandrugby.com/my-rugby/players/player-health/concussion-headcase/
Play it safe and Rugby ready course will be held at Tadley RFC in September. These courses and at other locations can be booked at https://www.englandrugby.com/my-rugby/courses/search/#/search
DBS is mandatory.
4. Those who do not meet the minimum criteria will not be designated as coaches but rather assistants to the coaches and will not be allowed to coach unsupervised.
It is noted that the ideal position would be for all coaches to have completed a level 2 coaching qualification. However it is recognised that this may not be possible due to time commitments. We do however want to fully support and encourage coaches to undertake these courses as they arise. If there is enough interest we will try and organise the course to be held at the club.
