Tadley Tigers U13's travelled to Farnborough for their Hampshire RFU Bowl final against Farnborough RFC. The team had a few pre match nerves as they knew Farnborough had had similar results through the competition and we had been fairly evenly matched in our friendly earlier in the season.
After a nervous start Tadley got the first try which caused an immediate reaction from Farnborough who went on the attack and put Tadley under sustained pressure for a good 10 minute period. The boys responded magnificently with a fantastic defence and prevented Farnborough from scoring during this attack. Tadley quickly got back into the game and went on the attack themselves and started to break down the Farnborough defence and it wasn't long before they were rewarded with 2 more tries. Half Time saw Tadley with a healthy 15-0 lead and the nerves had settled but the injuries were mounting.
With players now having to play out of position Tadley went about trying to finish the game off early in the second half but Farnborough were having none of it and put up a great fight and got themselves a well-deserved try. However, Tadley weren't about to relinquish their grip on the game and their fitness began to show and more tries were scored giving Tadley a well-deserved 35-5 victory to win the Bowl final. Farnborough put on a great display and the score line did not really reflect the great competitive game the match was and played in great spirit by both teams.
