As you know 2025 is the 50th Anniversary of the Cheshire County League. To commemorate this Geoff Wellsteed has written a wonderful history of the League from inception to the present day - copies available from Club Secretaries (Freddie).

There is an Anniversary Day at Toft Cricket Club on June 19 2025.

A strong League XI are playing an MCC XI at Toft (40 overs, 11.30am start).

We hope to see as many members from around the clubs as possible to enjoy the game.

To follow this, we have arranged an Anniversary Dinner in a Marquee at Toft, 7.30 pm. This is sure to be a special occasion with opportunity to celebrate and reminisce with friends and acquaintances from clubs across the League.

A four course dinner is planned with special guest speaker Robert Croft who comes with an excellent reputation as an after-dinner speaker.

Tickets for the dinner are £45.

As well as the players from the match we also plan to invite as guests several former County League players who were brought up in the League and have gone on to play County cricket.

The day and the Dinner have been widely advertised on the website, social media, and James Emerson’s newsletter over the last few weeks. Ticket sales have been slow so far, and we need you to organise your clubs requirements.

We trust that the lack of ticket sales so far is due to the Cricket season only just starting.

We therefore hope that you will promote the dinner in your club and encourage your members to attend as well as contacting ex-members who have played for your club in the league over the years as it will be an excellent evening.

Tables of 6, 8 or 10 are also available for clubs to sit friends together. Tickets can be purchased online via the Cheshire Cricket Board website or via the organiser of the day, David Gane ( davidjgane@me.com 07943652517).
