The goals flowed on the second weekend of the season, the thirteen senior fixtures producing no fewer than 65 goals.
The first Friday night game of the season resulted in a 2-2 draw between Keyworth United and Hilton Harriers in the Black Dragon Badges South division. After a goalless first 45, the visitors took hold of the game with two goals in two minutes from Chris Smith and Ben Sandeman and, although Rob Gill pulled a goal back with ten minutes left, looked set to take the points. It was not to be however as a free kick from James Price deep into stoppage time rescued a point for Keyworth.
Pinxton made it three wins out of three as they came from behind to win 4-2 at Blidworth Welfare. Lewis Weaver put Blidworth ahead on 12 minutes, the lead lasting only two minutes before Kieran Debrouwer equalised. The hosts reached the interval ahead thanks to an Aaron Pride goal, but were overhauled in the second period, Pete Stubley levelling on 64 minutes before a quickfire double from Jay Cooper and Danny Evans clinched the points for Pinxton.
Eastwood Community opened their season with an 8-1 hammering of South Normanton at Coronation Park. An early Danny Hayes opener was wiped out by Daniel Riley before Paddy Webb and Hayes’ second put daylight between the teams at the interval. The second half belonged to the Red Badgers as a Greg Conn double a third for Hayes and further goals from Aaron Large and Chay Betteridge gave Eastwood the best possible start to the season.
Hucknall Town also hit eight as they saw off new boys AFC Kilburn at Watnall Road. Joe Ashurst struck first after just three minutes and two in a minute from Kajally Danso set Hucknall on their way. The hosts were five up by the break, Matt Brian and Jamie Crawford both on target and completed their total with Crawford’s second and one each from Shaun Smith and Adam Nelson before the goal of the match in the last minute from Kilburn’s Craig Bagshaw gave them a crumb of consolation.
Sherwood Colliery kept their second clean sheet with a 2-0 defeat of Holbrook St Michaels. Julian Topliss in the first half and Dale Gilliatt five minutes after the interval saw them home.
Goals from Tremere Lindo, Kye Pilmore and Will Horton ensured maximum points for Linby Colliery after their visit to Teversal Reserves.

For the second week running Lee Holmes was among the goals, hitting four as Harworth Colliery hammered Renishaw Rangers 9-1 in their Black Dragon Badges North match at Scrooby Road. Holmes took his total to seven for the season with a first half hat-trick backed up by a Josh Davis double as Harworth ran in five first half goals. The striker added his fourth five minutes after the restart before being substituted, Tom Pick and Lee Edmondson putting the home side further ahead. To their credit Renishaw never gave up and were rewarded with an 88th minute goal from Daniel Talbot but Harworth had the last word, Joe Byron scoring in the last minute.
Lincoln Moorlands Railway won for the second week, beating Thorne Colliery 4-1. Chris Nuttall and Jesse Anderson put the Moors ahead in the first 45 minutes with Andy Parrish and Nuttall with his second completing the scoring. Thorne’s reply came from Kyle Palmer.
Plenty of goals at AFC Bentley as the home side beat Phoenix by five goals to three. Matty Hughes and Brad Maddison both scored twice for Bentley, Rod Pursehouse also on target with Rob Gorman (2) and Junior Gama getting the Phoenix goals.
Retford played their first league match at their new ground and celebrated the occasion by beating Tideswell United 3-0. Arron Blakey got the first goal on 26 minutes, Gareth Davies doubled the total by half time and Robbie Collingburn claimed the third, Tideswell’s afternoon made no better by having a penalty saved.
Dinnington Town won their second match in three days, beating Welbeck Lions 2-1 at Elkesley Road. Matt Bradley was on target twice, Welbeck getting one back through a Liam Arnold penalty but being unable to force a draw.
Collingham edged out Askern 2-1 with goals at either end of the game. They took a 2nd minute lead through George Alpin before Jason Kearsley equalised after a quarter of an hour. That’s how it stayed until a minute from time when Callum Chapman grabbed the winner.

In the Macron Store Stoke Division One, Mickleover RBL took the goalscoring honours as they inflicted a ten goal defeat on Cromford. Joe Condon got a hat trick, the others being shared between Adam Ruston, Martin Green, Ben Asquith, Jakeem McCalla, Oliver Lonsdale, Joe Lord and Shane Tompkinson.
Harworth Colliery’s Kenzie Tomlinson was another hat trick hero, his three inspiring his team to a 6-0 win at Holbrook St Michaels. The other goals were scored by Michael Wibberley, Dan Dean and Marley Alder.
The afternoon’s third treble came from Wirksworth Town’s Josh Middleton, who along with Rob Inckle and James Newton gave Wirksworth their second win, 5-2 at Linby Colliery whose goals came from Daniel Chambers and Aiden Butler.
Henry Brooks with two, Guy Wilding and Guy Taylor were on the scoresheet as Swanwick beat Radford by four clear goals and Eastwood Community triumphed 4-1 at Holbrook Sports thanks to Leyton Nethercott, Kieran Knight, Cal McGready and Owen Everton with Adam Lillie replying for Holbrook.
